Dietology
PROPER NUTRITION
We are what we eat!
The fact is, we influence our physical and mental well-being and our health several times a day with what we eat and drink. Even small – but consistent – changes can cause excess and therefore unhealthy kilos to tumble, blood values to improve, a better gut feeling, more energy in everyday life and much more.
What does dietetics actually mean? Dietetics is the study of food, its ingredients and the human body. On the one hand, dietology describes how food and nutrition can be used as a therapy for a wide variety of illnesses and complaints; on the other hand, it is very much about eating in such a way that so-called “diet-related” illnesses do not occur in the first place. It’s all about prevention, maintaining health and healthy longevity!

DID YOU KNOW?
Nutritionists
Dieticians belong to the professional group of medical technical services (MTD) and are therefore the only “nutrition specialists” who are allowed to offer nutrition therapy for illnesses and complaints. They have undergone extensive theoretical and, above all, practical training and are not only committed, but passionate about continuing their education and keeping up to date with the latest nutritional science.

Mag. Birgit Barilits
Originally, Birgit wanted to become a female Indiana Jones, as well as a chef and astronaut. But things turned out differently. First a degree in psychology, followed by years in retail and sales and later in HR consulting and development. That cost money! Not money, but health and a good mood. So there was an (almost) 180° turnaround and the cook came back into play. Chef next level – to get healthy, fit and in a good mood again and also to support and inspire people and make them healthier, fitter and “in a good mood”. That was the path to dietology, to nutritional counseling. And as if it had been planned, all my experiences, training and interests have come together to form a complete puzzle. Since 2013, she has been following her passion and accompanying people on the path to more health, joie de vivre and enjoyment – with the right nutrition.
