Dr. Ibrahim Amir
Born in Syria, he is not only a commuter between cultures, before his current work as a general practitioner, he was a celebrated playwright. “Have the honor”, Dr. Amir! He was even awarded the Nestroy Prize in 2013 for this play, which premiered at the Nestroy Theater in Vienna. But everything in order, as with any good case history: after studying dramaturgy in Aleppo, Ibrahim was actually on his way to Dublin and got stuck in Vienna. For the sake of love. But don’t worry, it won’t get cheesy now – after all, you’re still on the Josefstadt primary healthcare homepage and not in the theater. He quickly realized that Vienna was a wonderful place to combine his love of drama (but only as far as the stage was concerned) and medicine. What do a good author and an even better doctor have in common? Both have the diagnostic insight and find the right diagnosis.
