The health check as part of the preventive medical check-up provides important information about the general state of health. In this way, chronic diseases can be detected at an early stage and possible risk factors can be minimized by taking appropriate measures.
All persons over the age of 18 who are resident in Austria can take advantage of the preventive medical check-up once a year free of charge.
More about Preventive check-up
Our nurses care for people with chronic wounds and also handle post-operative care and acute injuries.
Inadequately treated wounds can severely restrict quality of life, cause severe pain, smell unpleasant and reduce mobility.
Examples of wounds that we treat:
- Acute cuts or lacerations
- Abscesses
- Open spots on the legs
- Burns
- Warts
- Diabetic feet
- Chronic wounds
- Ingrown toenails
- Bite wounds
Before a planned operation, we carry out a preoperative examination to assess the risk of surgery.
We also carry out a physical examination, a laboratory test and an ECG.
If necessary we will also discuss a temporary change in medication required for the procedure.
With the help of the resting ECG, pathological changes in the heart, such as circulatory disorders of the heart muscle, heart enlargement or changes following an older heart attack can be detected. Recording an ECG is a simple and stress-free examination.
We can also look after you at home if this is necessary and sensible. We ask you to book home visits as early as possible: +43 1 4060698 or office@pv-josefstadt.at
Please let us know the nature and duration of your health problems and the reason for the home visits.
If any questions regarding home visits occur, our team is pleased to answer them.

Further services
A fee is charged for the following additional services, among others:
A living will is a declaration of intent with which you can expressly refrain from medical measures for up to five years in advance in the event that you are no longer able to communicate or make decisions. As part of the preparation of the living will, a medical consultation on the living will and its consequences is carried out and documented.
You can obtain all the necessary forms for the living will from our practice.
If a doctor’s certificate providing information about your state of health is required for the exercise of your profession or other activities, we will be happy to provide you with this on request.
The ultrasound device offers a painless, risk-free and largely side-effect-free examination that allows individual areas of the body to be examined in order to detect pathological health risks at an early stage. Ultrasound examinations can also be carried out in the case of acute complaints in order to uncover the cause.
Spirometry can be used to measure lung function and the performance of the airways. The lung test shows whether lung diseases or diseases of the respiratory tract are present or whether there is a change in lung volumes. The lung function test can also be used to determine the distensibility of the lungs, which can also be a sign of a disease in the lungs.
The BIA measuring device is a non-invasive measuring method used to determine body composition. The BIA measurement not only provides information about body weight, but also analyzes the percentage distribution of muscle, fat and water in the body.
Regularly checking your blood pressure is an important measure to prevent cardiovascular disease and reduce existing symptoms. Since a punctual measurement is often not sufficient to initiate the correct therapy, 24-hour blood pressure measurement is used. Here, blood pressure is measured at regular intervals over 24 hours and a blood pressure profile is created, which can be used to initiate the appropriate therapy.
If food intolerances are suspected, a test is carried out using the hydrogen breath test or H2 breath test. This will determine whether an intolerance such as lactose, sorbitol or fructose intolerance is present. The breath test is also used to examine the small intestine to check for bacterial colonization that may be causing the intolerance.
