Social work

LET YOURSELF BE HELPED

Help for self-help

Not all ailments that can bother us have their cause in the body, rather it is often emotional and psychological worries that make us ill. At a time when many people are confronted with economic difficulties, psychological problems or social isolation, social work plays an important role in our society.

Social work addresses issues that go beyond medical care and offers people who find themselves in a difficult situation support and help in the form of advice and assistance in solving various problems. Social work can therefore be a valuable source of support if people are unable to cope with everyday life using their own resources.

NOTE

General information

Often, social work help is only sought when a problem arises, but there does not always have to be a specific problem to receive support from social workers. Sometimes it helps to have someone who listens to you and takes an interest in your affairs and takes the time to deal with your concerns. In many situations, it is beneficial to get the perspective of an outsider in order to deal with the situation.

CONTACT PERSON

Mag. Sonja Pargfrieder

Helping others has always been in Sonja’s interest, which is why she took the step towards social work. With a degree in social work under her belt, she was full of drive and wanted to make her contribution to the world. She was involved in the Ute Bock association, putting all her energy and heart and soul into helping people in need.

The next initiative was taken with her own project idea in the area of asylum. In her practice, she dealt with children in severe crises, dementia patients and adults and the very elderly with psychiatric diagnoses. Even though her work usually takes place in a socially difficult environment and she is often confronted with different and complicated life circumstances and questions, it is the fact that she encourages people, helps them out of difficult situations, develops solutions and experiences how these can lead to success that inspires her.
